What if the things that you fear are stopping you from flying. . . .
We tend to avoid what scares us because of its potential to hurt us. Maybe it's hurt you before or maybe you just have a bad feeling and you just don't trust it. What if i told you that the time you've spent fearing that/those things has be the time you've wasted not being where purpose has wished to advance you to. . .
Semi-Semi partial truth moment (LOL)
I. Eran Poole. Dislike. Balloons. . . . With a strong kind of passion. Like "HATE. HATE. HATE... LOATHE ENTIRELY HATE THEM." **Grinch Voice** Yet for the sake of this post lets use them as our example.
If you take a look at this picture of the of the chair and this balloon it's evident that the chair is heavier and that the balloon is simply floating in the air. Think of this chair being you and let's call this balloon "purpose/destiny/dreams/fulfillment" (whatever floats your balloon --see what i did there lmbo.) One can see this and think "hmmmmm i can add weight to the chair and this balloon will remain constant in its floating. The weight added to the chair does not take away the weight the balloon holds. Stick with me. Sitting in this chair for me would be difficult because what's tied to it. I the fear the sound it makes, how big it is, the pressure in it, and most importantly i fear the ability it has to POP! So my fear causes me to add weight. Perhaps shifted weight because i'd sit on edge. Maybe weights of anxiety, doubt, fear, uncertainty. (The list could go on.) If i sit long enough, over time the air will decrease in the balloon causing it is not float so high because I've done nothing to maintain it's pressure. This balloon was never meant to be tied down. The helium in it always intended for it to fly, but because i fear it, i can never bring myself to fly with it. I can stare at it and it be pretty. I can imagine what flying with it would like. I could dream about the places it could take me, yet in the back of my mind the ability it has to pop on me makes me think of how hard the fall would be for me if it exploded. So the weights keep me on the ground, but to me at least i'm safe.
Has anyone seen the movie "Up"? It's a Disney movie about the old man who had the balloons tied to his house with not the hope but trust that they would carry him to a specific place. He trusted this plan so much because he spent less time thinking about whether or not his plan would fail him and more time creating and feeding ways for it to work. He moved beyond his initial fears and remembered a promise. I'd hate to spoil the movie for you but even when his balloons gave out on him HE STILL ENDED UP WHERE PURPOSE INTENDED FOR HIM TO BE!!!
We spend so much time fearing what could be instead of remembering what has been promised to us. Back to this chair. Truth is with enough the helium this balloon could make this chair fly. But i'd have to not be afraid of how big it gets. Let's call the helium in the balloon the things God placed in us to get us to promise. Let's call the helium giver God. Sometimes He adds more helium. Other times He adds more balloons. There are things and potential in each of us that will in fact carry us to purpose and yes they are frightening. They hang right over heads waiting for us to cater to them so that with the help of the Lord they can cause us to soar!!!! What scares us is often intended to launch us. Change your perspective of how these things can "pop" (fail) you and trust that God won't fail you when you're in purpose! He'll never fail you "floating" in His will!! I'm not at all saying that it isn't scary because it certainly is but you my friend are a warrior!! Hold on and remain steadfast. FEED YOUR DREAMS! WALK IN PURPOSE. DON'T BE AFRAID. WHATS HOLDING YOU DOWN IS HOLDING YOU BACK. BE FREE AND FLY. YOU WONT LOOK BACK I PROMISE. AND BESIDES . . . THE VIEW IS BETTER FROM THE CLOUDS! There's a quote that says "If your dreams don't scare you they aren't big enough." We will never be called to do anything in our own power! That's what we need God for. He won't make you fly alone. "He'll either catch you before it "pops" or he'll give you more air. Do what He said do. Finish the book. Record the music. Start the channel. Start the Business. Preach the Word. Be Kind. Be Encouraging. If God told you to do it it isn't a risk. . . it's for purpose.
