If a prayer isn't said the car doesn't move.
I remember desiring to drive, then being taught to drive, actually learning to drive and being comfortable driving alone. Lisssstteeennnn A WHOLE PROCESS. Maryland requires driver's education course (no matter your age) for every new potential license driver. I was so excited but freaking out! First of all my grandfather enrolled me before i knew anything about it (I mean i guess he was tried of driving me around bllahhhhh). First day of class i assumed i'd be behind the wheel but no Honey. . . this teacher taught on car accidents for like two weeks straight. After that i was convinced that this was probably not for me. I have trouble not falling UP the stairs sometimes--and you are asking me to operate a whole machine-engined vehicle? Yea, No, probably not. I recall her explaining "I'm telling you about all of the risks before i teach you to drive so that you know what NOT to do. No worries i will be here with you every step of the way. No one will be licensed until we're comfortable enough with your skill to even send you to the DMV." Yall the pressure was on and mine was raised.
Needless to say i began sessions with her and when i wasnt with her i was behind the wheel of my grandfathers' Grand Marquis. "He said Ahh Girl if you can drive this you can drive anything!" He was pretty patient. My teacher however was a complete jeeeeerrrrrkkkkkkk at the time. She had a brake pedal on her side that i had no idea of and if she didn't like my driving she'd slam on it. I progressed as time went on and for my final driving lesson she had me drive her to the Salvation Army as she chained smoked cigarettes just like every other ride and complimented me the entire way there. As we approached the corner back to the driving school, an alarming fire truck passed and i guess i didn't stop in time like she wanted and yall she put me out of the drivers seat and into the other side and changed my perfect score to a point lower in each area for one mistake. I felt some type of way but TUHHH whatever ma'am sign this paper so i can go take my real driving test!!!
